You are right, Netflix is pretty new and I think that its stock price
is mostly hype-induced. Everyone is wondering how far this company
will go and how well their business will do. I imagine that they will
gladly take their business global once they get enough capital for
such a movement.

The striking difference is that Blockbuster is based on going to the

The technical position of Netflix looks very good -- the increases
were at high volumes, the small corrections were with low volumes...
by the book.
See more details in [link]
, where your feedback/comments are most welcome.

 Continuing the previous technical analysis:

Why Sell:
a) The stock price is dropping today, after a two day rally. Maybe
it's a sign to sell.

Why Buy:
1) The stock price is indeed dropping a bit, but in a small volume. I
expect it at the end of the day to be ~85% of the avg. volume, but in

My theory is that Netflix is kind of in a counter cyclical business.

When the market is up and times are good people have more disposable
income and see more movies in the theater, go out for dinner and
entertainment, etc. When times are bad or recessionary people tend to
stay at home, eat at home, etc. But people still want entertainment.

I just received the latest 'Motley Fool Stock Advisor' newsletter, and
it looks very similar to the one from 2007, where the company that was
most "like Dell" was actually Netflix.. this time too they refer to
Netflix as one of their picks, not by name of course!
