Newcrest has already been in talks with other juniors after the recent
rejection on a takeover bid. Now they have set their sites on some juniors with large gold deposits. The rumor of EAS & CTN being targeted for takeover is spinning itself around the financial community. EAS has had a nice run with 1200% gains in the past 9-10 months and now CTN is following in its footsteps with its exploration program at Sumatra(the land of gold). If Newcrest were to come in now they would control 12-15 million estimated ounces on both properties of near surface gold. The CTN float is small and the company would probably take 125 million You must Sign in before you can post messages.

Many so-called expert analysts are saying Gold is dead and $1050 is
the next level, but USA is still in debt, rising unemployment (job #'s were fudged), middle east want price oil in another currency, the Chinese want protection from the greenback. If this is the case shouldn't gold go higher... $1250 and up! Oh and the Dubai debt crisis, Greece rating downgrade and other Any thoughts? You must Sign in before you can post messages.

Hey guys sorry I havent checked the message board in a while. I got
out of ABX at 48.70. I wish I held on a bit longer but I didn't want to get greedy, and I saw a pullback coming. The pullback has been much stronger than I thought, and as a result I've gotten back into ABX @ 42.00 If it drops lower, I will average down, however I think this is a good entry point for ABX round 2. US jobs reports are bullshit. Theres 10% unemployment on the record,
and probably something like 18% in reality. Fact is -- the US currency is in horrible horrible shape and gold is going no where but up. The US have an underfunded social security system with a present value of about 60 trillion dollars -- which they will have to either default on or print more money to substansiate. The US has already added trillions to the national debt with the bailout, and another bailout 10x the size will be needed to restore social security in later years. The long and the short of this is, the US is devaluing their currency
Dont let CNBC fool you, the US is in horrible shape and I bet every

You were right a fudged up US jobs report sent GOLD tumbling 4% and
Barrick got an 9% slap in share price. Is the trend for gold going downward? I don't believe the US job #'s though. On Dec 3, 6:17 am, rana <raju.ra...@gmail.com> wrote:
