What's going on with this market.  It seems like unless you totally
slaughter expectations your stock will fall.

Why is CTRP down this morning after a good report?

I guess the lesson here is sell on the day before the report, to
minimize losses due to such crazy dips.

The stock's going back up now, though. It may not be so bad after
all... :]

People think the earthquake may hurt future growth... the area
accounted for 10% of its business.

Just sounds like discounted stock prices to me. CTRP is strong and
will make provisions and a full recovery.

The problem with that is that last quarter it shot up the day after
the report. If you would have sold, you would have missed a 14% jump.
See Feb 28, 2008.

If you noticed after the last earnings report the stock dropped almost
back to before the report came out. So the lesson is to not think
about earnings reports and concentrate on when you think the stock is
a good price. This way you will tend to get into the stock at a better
time. Obviously the stock moved very high recently after the market
correction, I know because I bought the stock only a month or so ago
at $48 which I thought was a pretty good price at the time based on
it's past trading history. Now that the earnings came out and it
dropped I thought it might be also a good time to add shares when it
got down close to $55. I don't care about earnings I just watch the
stock price look at a sell off as a good time to accumulate shares.
Yes I could have taken my $48 position and sold it at $60 but I always
buy small amounts so selling for me doesn't really make sense. I'm
looking to add and some day when I have a number of shares and I have
made a good return I will sell some but I think CTRP has much more
growth ahead.
Good Luck,
Ron
