Seems yesterday's reversal intraday and after market drop of $5 to
$549 might be tied to the news from Baidu (China). Baidu is changing their advertizer model on December 1 and expect smaller revenues in fourth quarter than analysts expected due to time it will take to convert remaining clients (30%) to new system and expect advertizing revenue to be more constrained during this changeover. This one or two quarter effect should lead to a re-acceleration in 2010 and therefore while revenues delayed, nothing fundamental has really changed in the Baidu story, IMO. I expect Baidu will provide inter- quarter update to assure investors. Meanwhile, this news has little or nothing to do with Google as it is company specific to Baidu, so if the early weakness is tied to the Baidu news, it should create a buying opportunity IMO.
