trading low. but the financial statements looks great. the company
looks very cheap or they are playing with accounting?

Waiting for this stock to really take off.  Look at its last quarter
results.  Why is it still trading in the $5 range?

From the latest 10-K (2007 Annual Report):

"Under a Tax Holiday in PRC, the Company is granted an exemption from
income taxes for two years commencing from the first cumulative profit-
making year and a 50% reduction in the income tax rates for the
following three years. Fiscal year ended December 31, 2004 was the
first accumulative profit-making year. SORL is entitled to a 50%
income tax reduction in the fiscal years ended December 31, 2006, 2007
and 2008. The applicable income tax rate is 26.4% in Ruian City which
is located in the coastal economic development zones."

I don't know if this is as cut and dry as it sounds... they were
getting some tax "rebates" throughout the year... any ideas?

Subject: Taxation Rate Changes
Does anybody know what the impacts of the change in tax rate will have
on SORL's earnings and margins?

SORL is currently only being taxed by the Chinese government at 50% of
the standard rate.  After 2008 SORL will lose this shelter,
effectively doubling their current tax rate.  (Rule in China: No tax
for first 2 years after becoming profitable, then 50% of normal tax
rate for the next 2 years, then the normal corporate tax rate after
that)

I am concerned about what effect this will have on their already slim
(and slipping) margins...  Any thoughts?  It would be interesting to
see how this higher tax rate (not starting until 2009) would have
affected this quarter's earnings...

Relative to the substantial growth in revenue and income over the last
quarter (and year), eps for SORL has only risen by a pittance. As
noted by the management in their conference call, this is mainly due
to the dilution effect of their quiet secondary offering of 4.9
million shares (26% ! ) I would speculate that many investors are
eyeing this company warily after pulling such a fast one on their
shareholders. With the American and global economy slowing, it also
remains a question whether such rapid revenue growth is sustainable in
the short or medium term future.

I hope so too.  I just realized that when I was in india a few months
ago, I noticed that there were about 20X more trucks (compared to when
I was there 4 years ago).  A lot of those trucks had chinese writing
on them too.

I've owned this stock for a year bought at 7, it went to 8ish, now in
the 5's.  The fundmentals look great every quarter.  I hope this stock
is ready for a run. Just bought more at the 4.80 level.  I'm long term
and think this should be back to the 7's in a matter of time.  Their
position in the Chinese large truck market and their deals with Indian
companies, I hope position the stock for a nice run up.

I usually research things more, but this time, my gut feeling (which
could've also been gas) was too strong.  I just bought it at 5.10.
Please reassure me and tell me that i'm not an idiot.  I just checked
the fundamentals, and they seem strong.  Is there something that I
don't know?  Why is it even 5-6% down today?
