Why did this fund not perform anywhere near as well as the TSX today?
None of the ETFs related to the TSX had comparable gains ...

I had the same question.. Maybe because XIU tracks the TSX 60 Index
(large cap)
while the TSX index we see in the news is the Composite index, they're
not the same.

Ya, I was aware of that.  The only thing is that it seemed to be the
case that all of the iShares funds related to the TSX were
underperforming that day, not just XIU.  I did think about the ex-div
date ... but I was under the impression that was March 30th, not March
26th so I was a little confused about that.

I guess I had the wrong date for the ex-div date, which is what
confused me.  I mixed up the date of record and the ex-div date.
