So whats the word guys?  Just a couple days ago I was under the
impression that Unicom was being divided between Netcom and Telecom,
now its the total opposite.

Are Netcom ADR holders still gettin the 3:1 exchange to Unicom?

If so, Netcoms price doesnt matter to us shareholders because whatever
shares we hold are then equal to 3 Unicom shares....Correct???

Is this offer still on the table because its the only reason im still
in with Netcom.

To be honest, I dont think any ofthe Telcos have made their run yet
and I actually want to buy more.

Any one a buyer of CHL CHA or CHU.  If so what prices?

I bought China Network on news of the acquisition. There was some
speculation that China Unicom was paying too much for China Netcom. If
that is the case, usually the price of Unicom will fall and Netcom
will rise. The interesting part was that Netcom went south too by 13
percent.

If Unicom is paying too much for the acquisition of Netcom, wouldn't
it better for the holders of Netcom shares? Anyway I just bought it as
my gut instincts says that out of the 4 parties in this restructuring
phase, there must be at least one party which will emerge the "winner"

Does anyone have a better understanding of this scenario?

Right, China Unicom is buying Netcom with stock, giving Netcom ADR
holders a fraction more than 3 to 1 for their stock. That means
Netcom's value is now tied directly to Unicom's stock value.
China Telecom has to buy its potion of Unicom's CDMA business for $16
billion and has to find a lot of capital. That means potential
dilution or debt. I'd be wary of this one.
The new Netcom/Unicom has pretty good growth potential, given the
Chinese government's determination to break the China Mobile near-
monopoly. I'd be wary of CHL.
Netcom/Unicom seems like a hold until things clarify. IMHO

Anyone else loving the strength CN has had in the last couple
sessions.  Usually it goes up and sells off...but lately its been
doing almost the opposite.  I think people are finally starting to
realize the true story behind the restructuring and what that means
for insfrastructure and theses specific companies.  Are CN holders
still getting that 3.something transfer to CHU? Is this set in stone
or liable to change.  Only asking because if not I think CN is
approaching its trading numbers once again.
