The reorganization forces China Mobile to offer services in the
shrinking fixed-line market and may increase competition in its main
wireless operations. China Telecom and China Netcom will begin
offering mobile-phone services by acquiring parts of Unicom, analysts
at UBS AG and Credit Suisse Group have speculated.
