Risk to Reward ratio giving Navios a boost! Earnings call looks
positive! About Navios, if you are a trader, I suggest you stay away!
If you are a investor then you should have no fears, and know that the
opportunities outweigh the risks!

Carrier - I'm starting to think you're a pretty good Navios
cheerleader.

I'm in for long as well - though I can't wait to see the earnings
report this evening.

I mean $1.70!!?? Either this is a great opportunity or I've just
thrown good money after bad.  I've watched NM on and off all year and
they were consistant in the 8 to 10 range.  Bought in @ $4 and bought
more today...

Those look pretty good to me.  They moved to reduce their commitments
toward vessel purchases and upped their fleet utilization rate in 2009
to 82%.

I'm not surprised but will other be?  Dividend is getting cut?  Long
term will be fine because of the restructured vessel purchase plans!

They pulled the old rabbit out of the hat trick with those
cancellations! And if you include the buyback they actually increased
value to shareholders, not cut it. They more than exceeded my
expectations. Dont forget one of their strong points, Navios and their
counterparties are insured for 2 billion. The market outlook looks
weak now, but we are at 1985 levels in the BDI and urbanization of
emerging countries continues, this is a near term slump, and global
growth will continue just like it always has, and if you ask why? Its
because people have infinite wants and desires, and as the world
becomes more and more connected and populated each day. The value of
Navios business structure will increase at a exponential rate along
with the human race.

"old rabbit out of the hat trick"?

I'm not sure that's the analogy I'd be using right about now.

What about the fact that vessel values are decreasing at a rate higher
than the decrease of debt on those assets?

Considering the current environment, Navios clearly outlined a path
for future growth. All drawdowns are provided for, cancellations are
ongoing and imminent. Those Ships that are not cancelled, are insured
for by both parties, and cannot be cancelled due to insurance policies
stipulations. As those ships come online their earnings will increase.
As long as the BDI stabilizes and we are not headed into another Great
Depression, Navios has a superior position to take advantage of long
term global trends. If the BDI will stay depressed at these levels, or
you think it's the end of the world, then you should sell your shares,
by all means. Because if the BDI stays this low for 3 years, then that
would mean that there is the potential that 3 years out they may get
into trouble with loans, It's obvious from looking at current forward
long term chartered out ratios. At the same time note that every
company in the sector is facing the exact same problem. However the
intrinsic value of Navios makes it the best deal in this sector by
far. Adressing the current stock price, It is obvious from watching
the trades go by that NM is still being pressured from forced
liquidation. The amount of buyers outnumber the sellers, however
because the size of positions are so large among those liquidating,
there is downside pressure. simple economics.
