A few days back, Baidu shares came under pressure amid concerns over
disappointing fourth quarter revenue guidance and impact of migration
to Phoenix Nest pay-search system. However, shares of the chinese
search giant resumed upward march soon after. Now , a natural question
which arises is whether the current levels are justified or not?

Price is way too high. Short term is ok. Long term... will below 300

there is some resistance at 347 but the way this is falling it can cut
threw anything. good luck to all the longs. this can get really ugly.

Or look at China Mobile P/e 11, why should bidu have better growth

I don't think it will drop much more than 12%... Shorters are panicing
but I believe this company will bounce back up and eventually hit the
Google Price Point.

The sad thing is, they blew the analyst estimates away by a handy
$0.35. It's the lower guidance for Q4 that drags this down, and I bet
you they will blow away the EPS estimates then too. Another case of
the market being fearful for little reason.

Arghhhh!. It's sitting on it's 50 day SMA in AH after a 55 point snap.
Ouch for the longs...time to buy right here
as that Phoenix nest cost issue will be spun positively by the company
in the next several days.
Then again, does China adhere to GAAP accounting rules or report
anything accurately. (Hell, do we??)

Just released. They missed estimates and so far I see an 11% after
hours drop. Good time to buy. Unfortunately, I didn't wait and bought
earlier today.

to me it looks like the pe on bidu is a little outragous 40x next yr
ouch this thing at 350 looks much better i guess we will see if it
pulls a sohu tonight!

Higher than even AMZN.

I think this one is getting a bit over-valued. No position in any of

I'm not saying they need to match BIDU's competitiveness in Asia right
now. BIDU has had such a run (400% since its lows) that any chink in
its armor such as guidance from GOOG when it reports that says
anything positive about its operations in China/Asia will cause this
to drop fast.

Covered 1/2 shorted position and rest will be let to ride with tight

I disagree - there is little way Google could come close to matching
Baidu's competitiveness in Asia, so I think any attempt at increasing
their market share there will founder.
