Subject: Re: SSW UP, ANY NEWS?
You are right, I was just indicating my rational for not selling
earlier in the week.

I believe that there were several reasons for the rise.  Note that the
rise was just not today.  It had been holding firm the past couple of
weeks (relatively speaking) and this whole week has been very good for
SSW.

The additional ship acquisition and contract confirms that their
business model is working even in these difficult times.  At some
point everyone knew that this was going to start rising.

As I said shipping stocks will be one of the last to rebound in this
economic recovery.  Shipping stocks have lagged the market and at some
point these stocks were/are going to fly.  In general, riskier
companies have lead the stock market recovery.  Money is now going
from some of the riskier stocks to some of the solid names in the
transportation and industrial sectors (up 5% this week) that have
lagged the market.  Financials were down 1% this week.  It is just
normal sector rotation.

There was also the good news from FDX which gave a boost to the entire
transportation sector today.  The stocks for several high quality (and
even some low quality) shipping companies rose this past week, with
the biggest gain happening today.  In general it was a very good week
for high quality names in the transportation sector.
