The US is one of the largest holders of gold in the world....devalue
the dollar on a controlled trajectory until u are at the point where u
are worth more than ur overall debt...Gold going up and dollar(debt
going down..ie..treasurys). sell some gold and pay off some debt
cheaply. Then reinflate the dollar by pulling back supply,,,ie TARP

i'm not sure i follow you here, since the dollar and oil have played
critical roles in the equities markets, but what I am mainly getting
at, the most basic point, that eventually everyone is going to realize
that the US has this thing under control and why the heck am I paying
so much for gold when US equities are yielding such nice dividends? I

I think personally trying to predict the direction of the dollar
carries a degree of risk, but i tend to lean towards BTs pov. I havnt
been trading gold because i dont believe in the underlying
fundamentals supporting pog. If anything i like owning the gdxj if
you have the capital to be tied up for a while.

So you don't buy into the US$ carry trade argument? My guess is that
the dollar continues to falter in a very controlled drop and gold
makes it to $1300 without breaking a sweat. Take a look at the
extended dollar chart. It looks like a controlled drop to me.....post
hedge fund liquidation from last year anyway.

i like the way you think. i need to spend some time looking into the
db dollar funds, they are kinda new, and I need to check how they move
with the dollar. 27 uup correlates roughly back to upper 80s on the
dxy it looks like. I'm gonna keep following... i actually like the
june 25 better, it looks discounted. I think maybe on dollar crap days

I'm not saying it 'will', but why not consider it? A pull back seems
'imminent', but when has that ever worked?

i can't see $20 only because I don't think this is a $20 stock.

i think there are so many places where a dollar rally could trigger...
jobless claims, repayment of TARP, repeal of unused stimulis money,
exit from GM, exit from AIG, interest rate hikes, taxes, etc etc etc
ad infinitum ad nauseum. Bottom line, I am starting to really believe

Cant believe AUY closed and held above 13. $20?? what time frame? not
within the next year if one asks me. Glad i bought some MBI

a surprise drop tomorrow on initial claims could be the catalyst to
drop gold. Can't believe the GLD has climbed another 8 points since I
bought puts!!
