I remember when everyone was wearing them, even with non casual
clothing but now no one seems to wear them. They did look weird when
worn with pants and shirt. Who paid 70 dollars for Crox? on this
Goggle forum?

I still see people wearing them all the time... but the problem is
that everybody that likes them already has them.  Nobody is buying
more.

people lost interest here. It looked odd with pants and very
unprofessional and silly for an adult to wear slacks and then these
funny toy shoes. So people must have decided to go back to normal
shoes. That is the problem with CROX. What else do they do besides
those shoes? and what will happen if they cannot make something new.
Who here paid 70 dollars for crox stock?

They weren't intended to be worn with slacks.  They started out as
boat shoes because of the non-slip sole.  For some reason, people
thought that they were fashionable.  Crocs should go back and target
the people that use them for their functionality...  Everyone that is
required to wear non-slip soles at work such as waiters, cooks, also
incoming freshman who need something to wear in the showers at the
dorms, and doctors and nurses who are on their feet all day... crocs
don't look bad with scrubs.  I'm sure there is a million other
industries that could use crocs for their functionality.  Also, the
whole medicare thing, if insurance will pay for crocs for diabetic
patients, think about the opportunities there.

But if that is the case then Crox will never sell as much as it did
when people here paid 70 dollars a share. Who bought Crox for 70 is
never going to recoup the losses since 70 is a lot of money for Crox.

True, but atleast the people who bought in around 10 can recoup their
losses.  I'm not saying Crox is some amazing company with a ton of
potential but I also don't think it's going to go bankrupt soon
either.  They have a lot of opportunities that management seems to not
be taking advantage of.  Fire the CEO and replace the board.  THEN, we
might see some sort of bounce back.

Buying at 10 is over a 50% loss. That is real high. Worse than any
fund. how did someone figure that the 10 dollar price was the bottom?

Have you ever met anyone that did not mind losing money? LOL!

It means that they are betting the stock or investment will pay off.
If you treat investing as a business and undetstand that you need to
spend money to make money you will do okay. The second you start
beating yourself up because you got in at 4 and the stock went to 3.75
before it rebounded to 5, is the second that you will suck at
investing. We all beat ourselves up, but if you dwell on it too long,
it can hurt you.

Definitely agree with burly.  It hurts when you have to cut your
losses, but if you believe that there's a turnaround coming for a
stock be patient.  And don't watch it waiting for the pot to boil (of
course I don't necessarily practice what I preach).

Me either!!!! I try like hell, but there are days that I beat the hell
out of myself for not dumping an extra grand into something!!!! I end
up making stupid choices as a result. Do not DWELL on it. Set your BUY
price, get in, set your SELL price and get out! Do not worry about
coulda. woulda and shoulda. Check out IDMC, Indymac. Had I gotten in
at .06 like wanted, I owuld have tripled my 1K in just 2 days! Do not
DWELL. Make a choice and stick to it. If it was wrong, don't do it
again!

My kids have a half dozen pairs of these each. I just looked at their
website (finally) and I realized that I have never seen an
advertisment on TV for Crocs. My kids have Nick on constantly and I
channel surf. How come I have never seen these things advertised? I do
see them around. The students at my Karate School (I take Karate, do
not own the school) wear these things all the time. Even in the
frigging winter! NE Pennsylvania, baby it's cold!

Fire the CEO, the board and upper echalon management pukes and get
some new ideas. CROX looks good for a long term investment. Will it
ever see 70 again? Do not think so. Can it go to 10 with a new and
existing product lines and some well placed ads by Christmas? I am
betting 5K that it can!

big deal.. CROX down... downsize, get a new CFO and CEO... reduce
number of items....  to the mid teens real soon...

if you were killed go out to January 2010 and short a 7.50$ leap
call... this will bring about 1.50$ per contract. or every 100
shares... you'll get at least some cash back imediately..

For those who can wait, I probably think it is the way to trade it
right now.... Any thoughts please!!

lay back and let the option expire.. you will however cap at 7.50....
better than bailing out !!!! plus, the short call will make you money
if it continues down... I believe there is no real reason to get out
of the position.... this one for whomever got killed is Patience, and
Hold...

Living outside USA , I probably get a different perspective of their
global business...

"Crocs" is no longer just the clog style shoe, so they aren't as easy
to recognize. Their revenues prove people are still wearing them,
especially oversees, just the company is really struggling switching
from a hyper to normal growth style company.

What sucks is the conjecture and unsubstaniated opinions of people who

So I'm in the market to buy some shoe company, since my energy and
food is stuck in a holding pattern. I cannot see any accounting that
explains a 50% drop on this thing in just a few days. Did they
announce 50% less revenue than when the stock was $10?  No, in fact if
you spread the current low estimate to the previous high estimate my
calculator says 15.6%.  I have been digging looking for rumors of
dilution or something but the rumor mill has only a bunch of shoe
counting nonsense. No, counting how many members of your grade 8
science class wears them does not qualify as actual research.

The stock has been beaten up by bad news on bad news, but the fact
remains all bad news up to the current bad news brought it down to
$10, and a 15.6% cut in forecast revenue chops the stock in half? Only
a part of speculating is in the math but there is math. I'll keep
watching the longs give up to the shorts but it is hard to imagine it
going much lower. Seriously? Anyone think that 3.99 sounds like a good
entry point?

Wow, did I ever find some more strange numbers. At this point of
course no body is buying, look (From Routers):

"Crocs now sees second-quarter revenue of $218 million to $223
million, down from its $247 million to $258 million revenue forecast
issued in May."

then a few paragraphs later...

"The company now forecasts revenue of $195 million to $205 million "

Um, huh?

Then comparing diluted eps and some other "non-diluted" eps? I don't
even know what they're talking about. All I know is one of the
articles, the so-called expert, didn't even know the difference
between "they're" and "their". So how do they keep their numbers
straight? Anyway, if anyone can help me understand how forecast
revenue changes by about 15% but EPS forecast goes from apparently .47
to .7? That sounds like some serious math problems. Who misses
forecasts by 671%? Shux. I thought I had something here.

That's exactly the problem.  In may they came out and reaffirmed 2Q
guidance at 247-258M with EPS of up to .47.  The whopper they laid is
coming out and saying "we earned less and actually, very little of it
is profit".  It's not funny math, they baked in expectations they had
no hope of hitting.  The stock is being very justly punished.

This stock is going to be flat to falling until the amateurs at the
top are replaced.

I see lots of homeless people and the occasional Wall-mart shopping
land-manatee wearing crocs.  As long as there are people with no
class, Crocs will be bought (or pulled from a dumpster).
Nevertheless, I'm not investing in bums and low-class anthropoids.
