down first.

that is the nature of things. If I knew the exact moment at which
everything would go up in a straight line I wouldn't be human.

as W.B. put it:
"don't invest in a stock you wouldn't be willing to lose 50% on -
before you start gainning"

of course he has got billions so who is he to talk on investing? :)
by the way, he is down 22.6%

On times like these, let me tell you something I’ve learned.
I came across a book, not sure if the name in English is correct:
“Think – and become rich” by Napolion Hill

The book was written in 1917 and is based on one Eduard Conergy
believes. That fellow was the world first billioner (before Ford –mmmm
look at the stock now:)) and was a (train) rail entrepreneur.

The book is a very philosophical one and VERY hard to read. You got to
have some life experience to be able to deal with the points he makes.

One session I like the most.
It goes like this:

“
Every person that reaches the age when it grasp the meaning of money,
aspire to have money.

I believe in the power of aspiration when backed with belief because
I’ve seen how that power lifts people after being defeated in a
hundred different ways.
Nature personify in the burning aspiration, something that do not
acknowledge the word impossible and do accept failure as part of
reality.
Aspiration itself isn’t enough. But the blazing aspiration, together
with a state of mind, that becomes an obsession – planning specific
ways to obtain that money and standing those plans in a diligence that
do not acknowledge failure – that is the way
 ”

Just some numbers I've looked at:
Hydro reported the second quarter results a few days ago.
operating income of 320M for the quarter and 723M for the last two
quarters.
free cash (not including investments) of 1.521B $. -(the company paid
a dividend last year totaling 1.91B, that is some of the money it got
from selling it's Oil business to the state Oil company)
market cap of Hydro is ~15B $ right now.
strong aluminium sales but raising energy prices hurted margins and
the outlook is for that to continue.
as long as the operating cash flow is positive (and it is nicely so -
on sales of 4.73B $, 6.75% - can only go up from here:)) Hydro would
look for ways to invest some of that 1.521B it holds in cash.
after selling one of it's two major businesses, the company looks for
ways to expand.
main business - aluminum rolls :) is seeing STRONG demand right now
and as far into the future as the eye can see.
this is where Ascent product should come in. on those aluminium rolls.
hard to believe we'll ever get out of the current market situation,
right?
well, THINK AGAIN :):):)
up up up, mine mine mine, go go go.

look at last year prices for solar stocks! we are going forward! big
time!

this is how a bottom looks like.
when nothing works. it gets too hard to follow and u actually start to
lose ineterst.
houses data lowest in 10 years. F loss ~9B etc,etc,etc and all the
news we had for the past 7 months or so.
it's been quite a while. it's time!
doolar today is up. 10 year bonds stays at 0% change - meaning no
money is going out from the markets to "safety".
WFR is a microcosmus of the bigger market implemented in the solar
sector.
when bulls sell on panic and bears buy for longs - that is the best
sign for a bottom.
if the market would reverse today to end on the green side - then
we're really made the step needed to get out of that crunch.
remember - we do not have to be fully out, just in the middle of the
crunch to actually start to move away from it on every step we take.
I think we passed that point on July the 15, 2008.

auw, that hurts today.

My entire portfolio is melting. The least bad stock is LDK, and that's
saying a lot. Everything 4-10% down. ouch.
