Subject: The Fall of STAGE6
When I heard this news today, I was truly devastated. I am being
honest.

I just knew the world had a much more potential in streaming high
quality videos. Divx was the answer with their stage6 site. Just the
fact that it blew YouTube out the window was great. YouTube sucks
compared to Stage6.

Stage6 was truly the best site to upload, download and watch live
streaming video. No other rivals come close or came close. Too bad
they're shutting down as of February 28, 2008.

Good bye Stage6.

I agree.
I think stage6 was revolutionary.
It was way ahead of it's time.
If it just lasted two more yrs, it would be second to none.

I am sorry friend but a forum site simply isn't going to cut it. You
cannot stream the files available on that site. Plus, Divx still holds
the rights to the Stage6 name and I doubt they will ever allow that
site to get anywhere off of the ground.

I whole-heartedly agree about a "Forum" being any kind of
replacement...
It just simply cannot happen. I have visited... and the only thing
closely similar are the colors and .css style...
Still on that same topic... another site is also trying to emerge as a
contender... and doing not so bad of a job... in look functionality
with a little more... Some of the Stage6 crowd... are huddling
there... however... upload IS limited... and video is uploaded via
third-party sight and then embedded into each person's "Wall"... no
video quality whatsoever... even the name is attempting to lure...
stage7.ning.com It's ridiculous... and literally hoards amassing for
sheer interaction and familiar feel and look. Audio and images can be
uploaded...

My opinion... as far as any kind of contender... (but still not close
to quality) is blip.tv
No feel and look, simply for Stage6'ers that were in the game for
sheer video pleasure or competitive DMCA compliant publishing of
higher end video.
