Except that the dividend price was 25% or greater of the share price
making the ex-div date 1 day after the payable date. You must Sign in before you can post messages.

Depends on the price that it is calculated at...Google has it pinned
on 12/11/08 where the dividend price is below 25% because the stock closed over $4.00 per share. This would exlude it from the 25% or greater category. Granted, I am not to sure which is right...for info on the 25% or greater see this info linked below: http://www.finra.org/web/groups/Industry/@ip/@reg/@notice/documents/N... When they announce the dividend... that day is the key to determine it
is 25% greater or not. In this case it was greater than 25% and so Ex-Date is 12/23 ...one day after the pay date. I even checked with scottrade in this. You must Sign in before you can post messages.

Interesting that Yahoo, Google, and mornignstar all disagree with this
assesment. The only place that lists this information that I can find requires a $500 montly subscription fee. the stock price also disagree with this assesment but as I said earlier I am not certain and cannot give advice one way or the other, just information. TO ALL: X DIVIDEND DATE IS 12/23, PAY DATE IS 12/27. Absolutely
certain, check with the company b-4 I bought in. Now to the real ?, why the dividend? Paying $1 per share for a $3.50 stock is absurd. My theory is this: Sketchers offered Heelys $5.25 per share in 8/08 and again in 0/08. Both offers unsolicited and refused by BOD, saying not sufficient. Imo, Heelys wanted to take the excess cash out of the deal and then offer the company to Sketchers for $5.25 or more. In the long run, what's $27M, (the amt. of the Dividend) mean to a company who wants to buy Heelys? Heelys was not going to sell its cash on a $ for $ basis, so they took it out in the form of a dividend and will offer their stock to Sketchers for somewhere around what Sketchers wanted too pay, sans the dividend. The next ? is, why the short notice on the dividend. That's because a
