I thought I posted a reply to this yesterday, but it doesn't appear to
have gone through. In any case, in what I was posting was that the
current quarter earnings isn't directly comparable. Look at the # of
common shares. In the current quarter ending Mar 31, 2009, there were
25 million shares. In the previous quarter ending Dec 31, 2008, there
were 32 million shares. If you want to compare the current EPS of
$0.29 to the previous quarter, it's actually $0.23 (vs the $0.19 of
the previous quarter). If you want to compare the previous quarter
EPS to the current quarter, it was $0.24 (vs the $0.29 of the current
quarter).
Better idea is to look at the total earnings and revenue to get a
sense of what kind of growth they're experiencing. It's still good.
Just not as good as you were thinking.
