What a great company! but what an expensive stock!!

It was last year that i went to Qingdao in China and stayed in this
hotel - It feels like I am back in the the student hall of
university campus in the UK!! i.e very modern, everything -
decoratioins is very practical , clean and simple--- and at a very

yup, i have been in for the long term, the way they are expanding with
organic and foreign growth it's quite a promising stock. It's quite
volatie tho and you have to have the stomach for it in these chinese
stocks.

Should be a good future investment. I'm in ever since before the
"crisis", but I have already recovered the heavy losses and am
currently sitting on nice gains, holding this one though. I'll be in
China in Nov. and Dec. and there I'll try to see one of their hotels.

Thanks for your reply. I'm watching this as well as several Chinese
stocks. I'm waiting for a technical buy signal. I think these are
volatile because of the low volume.

I entered in several days ago but looking at the numbers expected it
to hit resistance since we are nearing highs for the year. Plan to
hold on to it for awhile. With the growing Chinese middle class and
the exodus from the rural areas to the cites people will need
temporary places to stay where I am hoping this chain will come into

i am a chinese from beijing.
my salary is more than 3000RMB per week.
Most chinese who earn more than 500RMB per week.
Most travel people earn more than 1000RMB per week.
HMIN is the best economic hotel in china.

yeah, many ppl are in the same boat...but it's the pps that has
changed, not the company's profile. It didn't have 2 good quarters (as
with the rest of the market), but the company still has a good cash
reserve. My proforlio is down 75%, too...thanks America, bush, and
greenspan.

It looks like this company will go to bankrupcy. It is continue losing
money. I am away this stock yesterday with crying and bloody. I lost
80% since I bought at $40 and sold it at $8. I will only buy US stock
and never, ever buy a single alien stock.

they not even making any profit, that's why the price keeps going low.
the 08 Olympic is done, if we dont see any jump in profit, this stock
can go even lower to $4 $5/share.

that's interesting. I was also in china in the summer, and i paid only
140 (120 if had i remember my membership id) in shenzhen, guangzhou
and other parts of china. I saw local and non-local chinese staying
there. I would imagine many who do travel are not your average
(190rmb) salary earners, but instead fairly wealthy. And biz travelers

It is hard time for all the chinese hotel business. But HMIN is the
worst one. HMIN 's room price is around 190rmb per night, it is too
high for the economic hotel. I just went to China on August for Olypic
Game. There are thousands of hotel they only charge 100rmb per today.
I think the HMIN is a little bit luxury hotel base on chinese

The business property rent is going up 40% this year in china, but the
price of hotel is keeping falling. That is why the company is keeping
losing money. I think this will go out of business on next 2 or 3
years. If you have this stock now you must sell it as soon as
possible, otherwise you will lost everything.

The economy of China is too bad right now. The inflation is almost
double digits. Everyone is strugling for high gas price and food
price. The chinese stock market is crashing now. The Shanghai stock
index decreased more than 60% during 10 months. So HMIN will be under
$10 at the end of this year. If you have this stock you should sell it

U.S. investors are just fearful right now. But I'll be the first to
tell you that China is in no way facing any slowdown. I know cos I
live there and I will tell you that the economy is going through some
very interesting restructuring that will see the domestic economy
growing even more in the next few years. Note this, China is growing

the market and in particular the whole industry is doing quite
aweful...once the US market heads in the right direction, this stock
will do well. Now if Top Star begin to make profits then hmin pps
should shoot thru the roof...FA is quite sound....thoughts

I agree 100 percent, you do have to look at the company as a whole. I
was mearly stating it seemed odd that its fallen so far and during a
time when you would think there would be some kind of "China Hype" due
to the up coming Olympics. I think in the long run this company will
make out. I just thought it may have been sooner than later.

You can't rely on one event to spur the stock to shoot through the
roof. Look at the company as a whole. Look at the industry as a whole.
Look at what is going with the market. The olympics should not make or
break a company. Maybe i'm wrong but the theory of the olympics
making this company seems stupid

Its odd how this stock is being sold going into the olympics. I know
the rates will be much higher and occupency will be maxed.
I guess the money men our pushing it down, to get in lower for a spike
up later.

I am going to have to agree with the people further up in the
discussion, I think the Olympics will fail to have any substantial
increase in the price of HMIN. I actually believe that the Games will
act more as a disruptive force, and by year end HMIN may have been
better off without them. I personally playing this one in the options

ok, before everyone goes crazy and frantically sell this stock, it is
fundamental sound (very little debt), and if you compare hmin (and the
hotel industry) to dow, when the market is good, roi is definitely
more. Obviously, the market is tanking everyday, so is the stock. Yes
longtermh, chinese travel is doing a lot better than those in the US,

The lease rent of the hotel is increase more than 200% since 2003.
Doing business in china is totally different to US. If the market is
up the property owner will take 95% of extra income and only 5% will
goes to the business owner. If the market is down the property won't
give up a penny, the business will take 100% of the loss. HMIN does

Gas price wont affect HMIN that much. In China few people travel by
car.
The whole hotel industry in US might be in trouble but in China it is
different.
People travel alot! But this stock will fall more because of the bear
market.
