I have been noticing for almost a week...Market is holding pretty
steady in the positive but SOLF is a laggard. Anyone have any idea
why?? Is this it for SOLF?

I think it's due to other opportunities taking would-be-buyers to
other sectors.  I think it'll delay the SOLF recovery but not
extinguish it.  I think when the financial recovery reverses and a
sell-off occurs, people will pile into other sectors like solar.

Ultimately, a company with this rate of growth (now secured by larger
contracts), and such a low PE has to pop in a major major way.

After I wrote that, I also got to thinking that part of this drop
could be because of the cyclical pattern of run-ups and post-earnings
drops.  People may be more keen on trading it around this pattern than
investing in the company, which would mean larger earnings run-ups and
drops, and a lot less action during the lulls, which is what we're in
now.
Just a thought from an amateur.

Tucker... you are right. I did not think it could happen yet again.
But it has. And, of course, provincial management.

I also thought that last earnings would be the end of that cycle, and
the start of stability.  That thinking got me in the hole pretty bad.
Looks like I'm longer than I had originally intended.  Do know I am
not selling at these levels.  It's crazy that antiquated technologies
like landline telephone companies have higher PEs than SOLF.

Got me in a hole as well. But I am not selling either. Glad my HOKU
rallied a bit, a company that I think will be best of breed in a year
or so as they are in everything SOLAR: batteries, installation, and
production of cells. Also an American company which will thrive. My
plan was to ride SOLF and then roll into HOKU. But I think, as you
said earlier: we have to be patient, and for now, take it on the chin.
But a rally could start any day as sooner or later they will bid this
up like last earnings. Let's hope so. I am sure as I speak that the
nay-sayers will return and come to roost.

Call me naive, but it seems to me that when oil goes down, solar goes
up.  And vice versa.  Crude again is sliding today, down to 126.  That
slide helps that market overall, but hits the alternative energy
sector.  If Dolly manages to knock down a few platforms and hit gulf
capacity, watch the oil slide stop, and the alternative sector
rebound.

I think, as was said here by other posters, that SOLAR and oil de-
coupled months ago. If not all SOLAR companies would be much much
higher. That was my thinking as well.
