to short stock you technically should first borrow it from someone
else before selling. but practically still possible to sell short without first locating the stock...this is naked short selling (what was banned for financials last month). HOGS has been tracked on the naked short selling list for a few weeks. removal from list means hedge funds have covered their short positions, which is likely what has driven the stock up recently from $7 to $9. shorts have been covered broadly in the market, but also potentially positive signal for expectations of Q3 numbers next week You must Sign in before you can post messages.
