I think many of you are missing the point.  If I had purchased apparel
from Lulu and latter found out that the product ingredients were
mislabled, I would be a little concerned about the price I paid for
the garment, since, I did not get what I paid for.   I'm assuming w/o
knowing that it is more difficult to make thread out of seaweed and
therefore, this justifies the higher price paid for the garment.  I'd
feel like a "sucker". How is LULU going to handle the disgruntled
purchasers and avoid possible lawsuits for false advertising?  Class
Action is definitely a possibility in the US' litigious society.
However this plays out, and its just starting, its going to cut into
their bottom line.  If they play their cards right, they might be able
to creatively explain this event away and offer refunds to those who
want them.  This will cost them money and will be reflected on the
next quarterly statement.  For now, even though the stock recovered to
a degree, I see skepticism and this hurts momentum and stock price.

BTW this thing is a bunch of misinformation to manipulate the
market... That so called Investor who was shorting the stock and sent
information to NYTimes, will be prosecuted, as a lot of investor made
complaints to the SEC...

On the other hand, as for the label of those clothes, if you do some
research you will find that they are not mislabelled, but
misinterpreted... They actually contain 23% SeaCell fabric which in
turn is a fabric made out of Lyocell (a 100% wood pulp fiber) and
seaweed. Seacell incorporates 5% seaweed content.  If you did your
homework in school you will notice that 5% of 23% is actually 1.15%.
Therefore seaweed fiber in a fabric is next to nothing...  So the
result of those so-called studies is nothing of concern and I'm no
surprised they were not able to prove anything...

So much for nothing...

Excellent work! Thank you! Now, don't you think LULU should come out
and clarify this misunderstanding if that is the case?  If what you
say is true,  Lu should have no problem sending a press release to
quell the bears and take potential negativity out of play?

I actually send an email regarding this to Lulu's investors relation
dept.  I'm personally shocked that the NYTimes speak directly to the
Founder about this matter.  Looking at his awful statement, which
brought shame to the company business process.  He is obviously not a
PR expert, and don't know much about the fabrication process of his
product line.  In the other hand, it's somehow normal, he is the guy
with the idea, the money connections, but he is not the designer nor
the guy who manufacture the product.  And he must have a lot, I mean A
LOT of more important matter on his hands right now, since Lulu went
public, than knowing every aspect of the fabrication process.  Yes he
should have redirected the NYTimes to someone more suited to answer
the questions, but I'm also sure the journalist took good care of
masquerading her real intention, it's what journalism is all about...

I hope this will end well for Lulu, but I would not care too much,
since it represent a small needle in the haystack...

cheers!

I have sent a letter as well.  I feel the lack of addressing this head
on is not in their best interest.  They have a great product and the
store experience is above average... Hopefully they step it up in the
PR dept!

If you guys think that the buyers of Lululemon products care about
this report you're kidding yourself. Next quarter is going to blow all
estimates out of the water.

I agree, results will beat every estimates...

And for those still bragging about mislabelling, please note that
there was no mislabelling, it actually contain 23% SeaCell fabric.
Which only contain 5% seaweed content, trapped in the 100% wood pulp
fiber.  It's like homoeopathy for fibers... But I'm sure a lot of
Lulu's customers are content with homoeopathy, therefore do not care
if the fabric only contain seaweed traces, even close to none...

And remember there was NO PRODUCT MISLABELLING, it actually really
contains 23% SeaCell fibers... which IS NOT SEAWEED, but a fabric
composed of wood pulp and traces of seaweed trapped inside "fibers
cells"...  I which I had a drawing I could show you to express the
meaning of "cells"

cheers

Yes, slanderous comments have been made against this company!

Misinformation printed in the New York times...Shame on them!

Other fool with a stage now slamming this stock ie) Crammer based on
what. false info!!! he has been saying sel sell sell from in the $50's
he says...he must hold a short position too...ahhhh

All based upon what?....

A short seller's opinion as fact printed to sway investors...how can
this be allowed or tolerated!

I do expect Lulu is working behing the scenes to handle this properly.
Maybe they are taking legal action as we speak...who knows.

One thing for sure is that their earnings reports will speak volumes.
In a couple of years this little "moment" will be a grain of sand on
the beach...

So there we have our press release! Confirmation of quality control.
We waited because they retested last night at an independant
facility...this article was clearly a trick to manipulate the stock.
The NY times should be accountable for such false statements

....wow people will do anything to manipulate this stock.

I like this part:

Robert Meers, CEO of lululemon, stated: "Product quality and
authenticity are of the utmost importance to lululemon. Integrity goes
to the core of everything we do and is at the heart of our
relationship with our guests. For this reason, we test our products
for content using a leading testing facility. We absolutely stand
behind our products, our processes and refute any claims in recent
press reports to the contrary."

and also

The Switzerland-based firm conducts a battery of tests before each
season on all of lululemon's fabrics across all product lines, testing
for a variety of attributes including content, pilling, shrinkage, and
colorfastness.

I agree my wifes 2 grand worth of lulu wear is of extremely durable
and high quality no pilling after years of wear...wow!

good luck m8s
