Subject: What happened
Hey what happened to Google discussion boards? Did they change things?

Anyway, let's talk strategy guys.

The key day is Thursday with GDP and the unemployment number.

My gut is telling me both will disappoint. What do you guys think?

Monday I am expecting a down day, and Tuesday I may go shopping. But
with the bad number coming out Thursday this is a tricky week. It may
just be best to stay in cash not do anything...

F'ers F'ed it all up... now all treads will be burried in the sea of
spam... F them... time to move on anyway.

i don't know and don't pay attention nor do i ever take a position
based on upcomming event trying to guess the result of the event and
then markets reaction to results... i am just not smart like that...

maybe not a bad gig... but shopping for what?

can't loose by staing in cash or risking only small % of it... this
$hit is sooo f'ed up its sick...

i will be posting less.... much less... kind of tired of it and market
is in the wave od intra day reversals so got to pay attention and take
advantage of those... trading spy puts is xmas again...

Well, I like your posts and look forward to reading them every night.

At this moment I am not sure what to buy. It will depend on tomorrow.
The thing is, I am becoming convinced that Thursday may be a negative
day. Great Britain's GDP number spooked me last week, and I think
spooked others too.

The one company I like here is GILD. If I could get it for 41, I would
jump at that. I think it has a nice potential for an upside potential
to 46 or even 48. It is also a safe stock to hold if you end up losing
on your trade. STP at 12 also looks attractive, and MTL around 17.
But I have no set target now. And that makes me hesitate even more.

I am avoiding the financials here. It looks like they are under some
alligator grip, and being pulled under.

So we have to see what happens at S&P 1041, and then at 1014. I would
expect a breakdown here below 1041, and then a retesting of the 1014
level. That 1041 is a feisty level though. It will be a battle to take
it below that. But at this stage, I do not see any good news coming
that will save the market. And my sense is the politicians are messing
around too much with Wall Street the past 2 weeks, and it will cost
them.

Dick Bove came out with some very bad news on BAC. BAC is a sell here.
He said that BAC has to raise 45 Billion, and he warned of share
dilution.  It is kind of funny, because like 3 weeks ago he had raised
BAC to a price target of 24, and  if you figure that they now have to
raise 45 billion, a more correct numer would be  around  12. How come
he did not know 3 weeks ago that they needed 45 billion? Is he talking
the market down to buy cheap, or was he just misinformed 3 weeks ago?
How can you be misinformed about 45 billion?

Anyway, that is the kind of stuff coming out in the news, and it bodes
I think very badly for the market in general.

Xoomaximus might have been that one spike above 1100.

Hey Xoo...

Before you go into "self-imposed hiding" could you let me know if
there is anything specific you read on charting when you were getting
started?  Looks like that might have been a great call on BAC.

Also, (although I'm guessing you've traded out of it by now) whats
your take on ENER at this point, and what direction were headed after
weds pm (sorry, I know you're not in the business of
prognostication)?  Although any miss-steps will send it plummeting -
it looks like its moving on past recent trend lines, and I feel as
good as that company is, after guiding in-line last ER, that they are
not going to disappoint this time (I sure hope not).  Anyway, whats
your thoughts on what'll happen with FSLR, and what effect that'll
have on ENER (spec those nov 12 calls) if anything other than the
general trend/direction effect it'll have on probably the whole
sector?

Thanks and have a good "vacation"/have fun trading.

f'ing funny...

i have read so much $hit it is sick... i have tried and tried and lost
and lost and lost....
then i read "Elliott Wave Principle" by Robert Prechter and lost some
more but this time enjoyed loosing (f'ing weird i know) so i looked
into EWI, signed up for the service and analysis and following their
advice lost a f'ing boatload but still felt that something is there...
now after staring at f'ing charts everyday for what seems like ever
they started to f'ing talk to me.... weird i know... so i guess
practice and losses r best teachers... anyway back to your Q.... there
are only two books that i would recommend to my own children (in due
time i will make them f'ing study this $hit):
http://www.elliottwave.com/books/ewp/default.aspx?code=cg
and
http://www.elliottwave.com/socionomics/default.aspx?code=cg

bottom line imo experience market is bunch of F'ing noise and only
view good trade-able set ups.. that's the reason for the cliche on
patience... so don't try to make something if nothing is there...

> Also, (although I'm guessing you've traded out of it by now) whats

what is going on on weds pm?
honestly i have no f'ing clue... i did traded out of it on that spike
b/c my concern w/ ener was always lack of follow thru then next
morning this biatch did this turnover number and i thru fibs on it for
the kicks and saw it bounce of 61.8 so opened up long calls again....
a little after 3 on friday i am seeing huge vol comes in and ener
makes no moves so i jump to dump my calls and right in front of me
some prick buys/sell huge lots (huge relative to oi) so instead of
dumping my nov12 i bought more nov15... idiot... i can't even explain
it... it was this reflex thingy... only after market close did i see
huge vol on put side nov 15 also so some F head initiate large spread
around 15 and i just happened to be in front of this moron.... long
story short i am stuck w/ almost 50% loss on that shizer nov15 and
minor loss on nov12... i am not dumping yet bc i didn't really chopped
up the move yet... when i am emotionally involved it effects my
judgement so i am not looking at it per say... want to see what to
consider main move and what is retracement first... besides if i lose
100% i already covered that trading spy put this week... so for now F
them... no help i know... but there is really nothing to say about
ener for now... 12.4 didn't hold and that's worrisome but bullish
composure still intact... will see...

> it looks like its moving on past recent trend lines

trading triangle is tricky and back tests are rather frequent
occurrence...  must wait it out a bit...

> not going to disappoint this time (I sure hope not).  Anyway, whats

i haven't looked at flsr chart in a while just at price and i am
betting there is a huge a$$ triangle forming.... nothing is easy those
days... what is good for fslr is good for ener i suppose...

here is contrarian indicator for you.... xoo bought spy calls today...
yep, me w/ my bearish view said F it.... i want to run with da pigs...
roll in dirt a little u know.... maybe eat some $hit if i have to.....
not like there is anything wrong w/ that... so i feel market in
general should step up and i will see how it will walk, run or
stumble... now if market were to move up then solar sector should as
well... i mean why not (although ener seems to disagree w/ SnP on
direction)... problem is in longer terms (which i don't trade) is $,
oil and market can turn at the same time and none of three is good for
solar... turn in $/eur for solar could be kiss of death...i think tsl
hedges currency trades the rest i am not sure....

nobody should be buying anything for long term holds imo.... trade or
get da F out of the way... bc when this biatch turns it will take no
prisoners.

if something clears up for me i will post it BUT remember that its
just f'ing xoo not dick bove and this is only goog board not gs thus
mistakes are frequent... trouble w/ mistakes is that i can't sleep at
night if move doesn't go my way... not b/c my loss but i can't stand
the idea of some poor soul acting based on bs from forum and holding a
bag while i will be on the other side of a trade already... does that
makes sense?

It does actually make perfect sense.  This definitely seems to be
learn by doing.  When I think about the money I've lost in the last
fourteen or so months, its pretty scary.  I'm not sure if I'm any
better now than I was then, more experienced or not.  But I know I
can't stop grinding this out every day - its better than anything
else.  You shouldn't lose sleep over any advice you give - whether
people follow yours or somebody who finishes their sentences with boo-
yah - they'll follow somebodies.  At least you care enough to lose
sleep (although I'm sure thats not something you want to do more of).

fslr is after on weds.  It is a big ol triangle... I think it was q3
last year as well when they were getting beat down due to eur hedging
concerns, but they were at least partially hedged (i assume they still
are).  Theres def a long way to fall if they don't turnover a full
house.  I saw an article on that big ener spread at 15, maybe we'll
bust through there a bit before settling back down in that hood at
expiry.

lol.. you guys are being funny...

I have called Xoomaximus several times. I thought it double peaked at
1080, and then it jumped through 1100.

It is possible that the S&P can make a run at 1150 now. GE is under
15, and BAC is closing in on 16. Both stocks could see a big momentum
shift and go on a short bull run. Since they are such big catalysts
for the market, it could lift everyone up.

However, I can also envision a long sideways correction coming, in
which there is a tight trading range. Something that happened between
May  and July. I am increasingly falling into this camp. If this tight
trading range develops, I think it is better to be invested than not,
but it will be extremely slim pickings. A few stocks will go on a
tear, and you will always be feeling like you missed the next big
thing. Maybe CIT is the last big thing out there? It is still in the
dollar range???

I am not confident about the BAC trade here. I have had a great
relationship with that stock, and the housing numbers (Schiller) was
impressive today.. really impressive... But I do pay very close
attention to Dick Bove, and he has been in a downer mood lately, and
I really would not want to go again his advice on banks. Of course, if
BAC names a dynamic new CEO, that may lift the value of the stock a
lot. There would be a spike on the good news. Interesting...

Good luck guys tomorrow..
