Rumor has it that the Q-cells (LDK's #1 customer) canceled its
agreement with LDK. I think that is what is causing this latest burst
of DLR.

I get a kick out of watching this POS go down now. Not that my other
holdings are doing any better mind you...

According to Qcells, LDK did not fulfil significant contractual
obligations.....

That can't be good.

Germany’s Q-Cells ended a solar wafer supply agreement because LDK
apparently didn’t fulfill significant contractual obligations.
It looks like Q-Cells wants out of the contract because it can get
supplies much lower now than the price the companies agreed on when
the contract
was put into place in addition to needing some cash.
The company claims that the $244 million payment made in early 2008
was secured by a bank guarantee and could be reclaimed if the
agreement was terminated.  Expect the legal wrangling to begin which
would be a drag on shares of both companies for some time.

The problem is poloysilicon is becoming obsolete and everyone is going
to bail on contracts for new business/suppliers selling thin flexible
cheaper and soon to be higher efficiencies.

Not even the Chinese government be willing to float LDK's multi
billion dollar investment in yesterday technology.  Can they turn it
around by switching to thin film technology this late in the game?
Jack is choking on his ambitions, big factories the size of cities
work for low technology manufacture and assembly but for a high tech
innovation based industry the model collapses as soon as a newer
distributive technology comes along.  Jacks only hope is that they
somehow come up with a modification to poloysilicon's chemistry or
fabrication process that gives it a competitive edge.
