Subject: Impact of new guidance?
Hopefully everyone is having a nice long weekend...

With the new guidance after hours what effect do you think this will
have on the shares moving forward in the next couple of weeks?
Although shares dlr'd 5% after hours, trading was extremely light (it
was after hours and trading has been light all week - and today).  How
do you think this will open monday?  Will we see some selling or a
rally after the long weekend?

Guidance was only lowered 25 million this time compared to the 130
million in Q1, so maybe it won't be that bad.  Low expectations could
already be baked in, but I think as long as the market doesn't rally
big, this could trade down to nine dollars.

I agree with you, the stock can go under 10 unless there is a rally.
In the long run, it should go back to 12 or 13 dollars.
I'm hoping to see a rally on monday but It is hard to tell, the fact
the
jobless numbers came high is going to slow down the market.

this financing takes away the need for some of the dilution/shares/
note offers.
25 - 50 mil in revenue less is a good chunk, but everyone knows that
Q2 was awful for everyone, not just solar.
LDK could actually rally on this, and it would be a good time to do
it, when retail is afraid to buy because the headlines look negative.

Honestly, I'm ready to buy much more if it goes below $10 again --
sold SPWRA and ENER, ready to load back up on LDK... The way I see it,
2Qt was BS, but 3rd and 4th should be profitable and that's all ?I
care about at this point. the truth is, unless I wanted to play penny
solars (ESLR AKNS) -- and I do NOT, O don't see another solar that's
as cheap as LDK based on their future potential... So yeah, like a
moron I'll buy some LDK as soon as It goes below $10 Monday... And if
it goes to $8, I'm selling all I have and putting it in LDK....
Seriously.

Just a reminder --- anytime LDK actually beat on revenues in the past,
the stock tanked... The headlines were always, 'LDK profit soars,' but
margins suffer etc --- I'm glad their revenues AND margins such now so
I can perhaps even buy it at $8, lol...

Those stupid analysts!! Just cos they were too dumb to get the
estimates right, the stock price has to suffer?

I realized at some point the job of sell side analysts is primarily to
rationalize trends in order to sustain them (and increase volatility)
so whatever big prop trading desk that's paying their salary will have
an easier time riding the trend for some easy $$$.

Mind you, their analysis on LDK in 2008 has been spot on, and stock
price suffered as it should have because the company misrepresented
its position at all levels. Which is, of course, a polite way of
saying that paper glove glove maker has cheated us out of our money,
and it is now trash.

As for what's going to happen this year and the next, it's really hard
to tell. No one can say for sure if demand will really pick up to the
point of companies being able to raise ASP's again. It will probably
stay in cutthroat competition mode, once started it is very difficult
to turn back, think about it.
I expect LDK to be just barely in the black for a long while.
somewhere along the line, (2011?) they are going to recover
substantially. The pps will overshoot up and hopefully I will be able
to sell then. There might not be another chance after that.

Agreed that often the sell side guys are just giving the big fish a
chance to fade into whatever pop their upgrades provide - but they
certainly can have their moments (although I'm loathe to admit that
Pichel has ever had any great moments).  Upgrades are certainly good
opportunities to sell.

However, I really think that solar is going to move higher in general,
barring any more major tanking in the general markets.  I don't mean
next week, but I do think before 2011.  LDK might lag a little with
all this capital investment they have going on, so Yonil - I think
you're bang on that they will definitely pop substantially in a year
or so once the investment starts to show dividends.  However, I don't
think they are going to languish near these levels until then.  I do
think investors are going to embrace solars again now that they've
seen they won't all go bankrupt at the first sign of trouble (fingers
crossed they don't all go bankrupt tomorrow).  In the meantime,
Chinese solars might appreciate on the back of this Chinese stealth
rally that seems to be going on.

Short term, hopefully oil continues to roll over to aid all of us put
holders, and give everybody else a nice entry/average down point.
Cheers.

next stop 8$,  been waiting for it to get back in.. .the last rally
was garbage and unsustainable...

clink!

jaz - why do you think next quarter is going to be good?  the market
is still has no REAL bottom (just the government placed one, which
isn't at practical levels)

more debt on a highly levered company isn't good when they aren't
raking in profits hand over fist... this was expected, but it should
turn around one day...

good luck peoples.

Agree with you, every news target it on a even lower price, 8$ is a
reasonable support point

But it's a Chinese company, not a US one, which should make some
difference.

I tend to think that tmr will be back above 10.
