Although with regard to point 4) and 5) in your list there might be
some explanations (wafer vs module different geo sales distributions
and interests capitalization on poly plant / fixed assets up until it
is completed - very dangerous by the way), I totally agree on your
concerns .... as I said, my only hope is this company turning to be a
module producer rather than staying as wafers producer ..... but
that's about it.
The poly plant has been a crazy choice and they are trying to minimise
the damage .... whatever they do, most of the damage won't be cured
out. Any investor would look for a return on it. Which will end up to
be in any case a "cost", in any form, for LDK. Much better if they
didn't invest a penny in poly production. LDK unless supported by
govnt for many many years to come would get close to insolvency.
Fortunately, they offer almost 14.000 permanent jobs and therefore may
get a permanent support. But for sure will not distribute any dividend
in the next ten years, should they survive.

Well I don’t know if people on this board understand what counting
balls means… hehe… But I do, and after living in China for more then 2
years, I can tell you that Chinese are pretty good at that….

I am not convinced at the results LDK posted and something doesn’t add
up to me. The 15% pop shows to me once again that this stocks is
manipulated and I used the opportunity to buy more put. I am really
curious to find out what analysts will say and if they will byte the
bait. Here’s my list of concerns:

1)      They made 29 mil but 22 thanks of to write off reversals. That
means they made only 7 mil which is about 6 cents a share.
2)      The first 13 reversal come from a ‘unspecified’ vendor so one is
able to verify it it’s the truth.
3)      Government subsidies in the quarter  were about 30 mil RMB. One
analyst pointed that the subsidies plus the reversal really was the
greater part of the earnings in the quarter.
4)      When asked to comment about the Q-Cells who made up for the Q3
shortfall they said that it’s thanks to sales in China and Asia,
especially Taiwan. Again they didn’t mention any names, so one cannot
double check if they are truthful. But the when asked about their
geographic distributions for the shipments  they said that it is
mainly from Europe and some from U.S. and very, very small from Asia.
Go figure…
5)      They said that their interest rates are over 6% but on the balance
sheet is recorded at 3%.
6)      They are selling their polypant to private investors, but I am
still not clear about how that will affect earnings. I am sure they
will pay premium return to their Chinese private firms. But what will
be left for us investors?
7)      After Nick left, the management is all Chinese. That explained to
me a lot of things, not to mention the confidence in their conf call…

I am puzzled as to why people still buy or hold this stock, including,
of course, myself.

God bless Charlie Situ

Subject: EXPLODING STOCK PICK SOLVING THE FUTURE ENERGY CRISIS WWPW
Dear Friends:

Here is our Exploding Stock Pick -WWPW IS GOING TO DOMINATE THE FUTURE
@ Full Presentation @ www.stockexploder.com

WIND WORKS POWER (WWPW)  THE FUTURE OF ENERGY  http://www.windworkspower.com/

WWPW LIST OF GREAT PROJECTS  http://www.windworkspower.com/projects.html

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY Wind Energy Could Produce 20 Percent of U.S.
Electricity By 2030 http://www.energy.gov/news/6253.htm

it's become cliché to say that North Americans are addicted to oil.
It's an expensive habit, too. The upshot, however, has been the
explosion of interest in renewable energy sources. Last year,
investors poured a record $71 billion into the alternative energy
space. And billions more funnel in every day.
JP Morgan Chase revealed that it's holding a $1 billion stake in the
very same investment.
Even better, in the next five years, the governments in the United
States, China and Europe will invest a minimum of $150 billion into
the same alternative, according to CLSA Research.
And, unlike oil, there's no possibility of it running out. So let's
take a closer look at the odds-on favorite to win the alternative
energy derby.
WWPW Wind Power
Wind. It's clean (wind power generates absolutely no greenhouse
gases). It's renewable. And it involves no production decline curve.
Hence, 30 years from now we won't be worrying about "Peak Wind"
theories coming to fruition. (I love that statement)
It also can't be hoarded by power hungry cartels. In fact, enough of
it exists to satisfy global demand seven times over, according to a
Stanford University study. North Dakota alone has enough of it to meet
25% of U.S. demand.
From 2000 to 2007, the size of the wind power industry increased
fivefold.
Last year, records were shattered with $36 billion in total global
wind investments with the United States leading the way with $9
billion.
In the next 10 years, the wind industry is expected to quadruple in
size.
WWPW'S Wind Power Makes Economic Sense
First and foremost, wind power makes economic sense. If the price of
oil drops to $50 a barrel, the economics still work; even without
government subsidies.
Keep in mind, too, that just a few years ago, wind costs rested north
of 15 to 20 cents. But today, costs are low enough in some markets to
compete with conventional power generation methods. And future
advancements will make wind power even cheaper.
The timing couldn't be more perfect, either. While wind energy costs
are dropping, costs for competing technologies – coal, nuclear and gas
- are headed in the opposite direction.
WWPW Opportunities in Canada
The Kyoto Accord signed by Canada requires that the Federal Government
mandate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions to be below 1990
levels. Since 1990 Canada’s C02 emissions have increased by 20%!
Ontario’s policy to close coal fired generating plants by 2015
replacing this power with wind will reduce C02 emissions into the
atmosphere by 40%. The first closing occurred in Mississauga, June
2005
Canada, with its size and one of the best wind resources in the world
has lagged behind until now. The Federal Government has expanded its
ecoENERGY Grant of $0.01 / KWh of production to 4,000 MW.
Ontario, who was behind Alberta, Saskatchewan and Quebec is catching
up to offset being out of power at peak periods when it is forced to
buy electricity at $0.14 to $0.22 per KWh from NY, Michigan and
Quebec.
In October 2008, Canada’s largest wind farm, the Melancthon Eco Power
Centre near Shelburne, Ontario came on line with 133 turbines, and
since that time 800 MW of projects have come on line and the Ontario
Minister of Energy, Hon. George Smitherman, has directed the Ontario
Power Authority to revise its business plan to procure MORE that the
originally authorized 2,000 MW of renewable wind energy by 2015.
In a recent announcement Hon. Smitherman indicated that through the
new Green Energy Act, to be introduced in the first quarter of 2009,
that the Province was moving toward more rapid deployment by removing
regulatory barriers and replacing the RFP process with a “Feed-in
Tariff”, the same model that has created 72,000 new wind industry jobs
in Germany since 1995.
Canada only had 684 MW in operation in 2005. As of Dec 12, 2008 Canada
has 1,770 MW of wind energy production, plus 2,000 MW in Quebec, 1,500
MW in Ontario, and 170 MW in British Columbia under construction. With
a CanWEA goal of 10,000 MW by 2015, the industry will offset lost auto
manufacturing jobs by employing 11,000 people.

Acquisition Strategies and WWPW's Plan to Grow:

Wind Works Power Corp. Announces Signing Of Agreement To Acquire Zero
Emission People LLC

I read the conf call transcript .... amazing the estimate of module
ship in 2010 .... 400MW - 600MW
that's impressive !
they expect same average margin as wafer .... but on module's sales it
means the double in terms of $$$ ... bottom line .... since ASP on
module is 1.80/w, on wafer is 0.90/w.
interesting .....
on top, they expect to ship 1.4GW of wafer in 2010 .....
let's hope they don't count balls ...... you know Dave what I
mean ..... right ?

Ciao Davide

happy to hear from you !

I do agree with your comments and join your view ..... ldk's
management has proved to be unreliable over time and market is not
giving them any confidence. Although results have largely beaten
expectations, sp is still below 9.00. I still own some shares and some
2011 calls and will keep them into 2010. In meantime, have decided to
move my interests in solar on CSIQ. It seems to have a more solid
balance sheet. The major good sign for LDK is the local support from
government. I assume thanks to the large jobs base of LDK.
Overall, though, I don't trust this market either.

Even if you flatlined their earnings for the next year, and showed no
quarter over quarter growth for the entirety of 2010, you would be
looking at earnings per share of around $1 based on q3 earnings. That
puts FPE a 9X with the stock at $9, average should be around 16x,
implying a price of $15. Sure its more complex than that, but these
shares are undervalued and the 22 million short shares should help
push this higher all day.

Those who are short are going to aggressively short this into the
open, trying to force this down so they can cover. Don't sell, make
them eat the loss.

Hey Umberto. I sold 10K shares on Friday and loaded on puts to protect
myself as I still hold 23K into earnings, average price $7. So I
should be fine both ways. Expectation is for a loss o $.10 a share. I
wouldn't be surprised if earnings are going to be positive by a few
cents. But is it going to be enough to sustain the recent rally for
this stock? I doubt it. What it's going to be interesting is the conf
call. I bet, since this stock is heavily manipulated, that they are
going to be questioned on a lot of things, Q-Cells, Nick Sarno,
Polyplant update, secondary offering, etc... That's a lot of pressure
to handle, and unless they have a compelling story to tell to
investors, people will continue to be skeptical and drive the PPS
lower. In the past they didn't handle pressure well during the conf
calls when having to explain things. I don't expect that to change, I
bet they are pretty nervous right now..... Having said that I would
love to be positively surprised and if there's a 10%-15% pop I will
definitely start selling calls. Overall I don't trust this market
