Ground Breaking News {CIT} announces a contingency plan. As soon as
the courts make a decision in regard's to CIT's Bankrupty plan the
federal government will then give a 2nd bailout to CIT. This is what
happened to General Motors. Ticker GM now MTLQQ. This is great news

i agree totally and more analysts are beginning to upgrade this stock
as well.

I am hoping that the large fund managers will begin to see this stock
as "safe" due to its less risky customers and its expansion into
online banking. I am definitely long on this one..

That would be nice for investors and Discover employees with their
retirement funds tied to the company stock. It was taken to market in
the high $20's ... but the market placed public value at the $18-$19
range. But who knows ... once the economy recovers, we could all be

If DFS price was like that of COF I can understand the rational. But

Companies are already adapting, cutting credit, etc. I am sure they
are not sitting around waiting for someone who lost the job to take

I believe defaults will continue to creep up. I dont think DFS will be
hit as hard as say AMEX or Capital One.

That being said DFS will probably get dragged down by association for
the remainder of the year and into 2010.

value DFS or evaluate it's future direction based on the ever changing
factors, but just 'follow it' up or down, therefore always buying or

I agree with Kyle, I don't think they will be bought. There are
rumors abound of all companies which have taken a fall being bought.

DFS rating may be downgraded along with several other CC companies
depending on the rating agencies analysis of the impact of the govnmt
regs impact and continuing effect of the economy on CC delinquencies

I absolutely love the Discover. I could be weird but like cars I think
