Subject: Where is OIL going?
Will it reach 200 by year end? Will it go down for a couple of weeks
and resume the climb?

Subject: Re: Where is OIL going?
I have to say I doubt it'll hit 200 by year's end.  It has climbed to
130-140s now based on increased demand from India/Russia/China but has
fallen off a bit right now due to decreased demand in the States.
Even if the lower barrel prices are eventually reflected at the pump,
it's not like American demand is going to do a quick 180 and jump.  So
I while I wouldn't be surprised to see oil climb into the 150 or even
170 range by years end on a weak dollar, I highly doubt it'll climb up
to or over 200.  Remember traditionally the summer months are the most
demanding for US consumption and we're about half way through that
time already.

Mexico just attempted to lock in long term contracts for oil at 135/
b.  Producers know oil is dropping and are attempting to lock buyers
it in at this price.  Economies can't sustain the current cost of oil,
so demand and price will drop.

There never was a supply and demand issue that caused oil to increase
in cost 40% for Americans in one year.

There is a 0% chance that it will go above $160 a barrel. When Obama
gets elected President in November expect oil to drop dramatically. I
wouldn't be supprised to see oil drop below $100 a barrel by year end.

No way.
Once it is know that we will pay a cetain price, it will never drop
below that price by any significant amount.
Who honestly thinks we will ever see gas below $2 or even $2.50 again?
The idea of oil ever seeing $100 is stupid and I'll by my entire local
a round if proven wrong.

The supply of oil depends on the level tribal unrest in Africa, the
Middle East, Venezuela, etc.

I cannot believe I am chatting with somebody who listens to Limbaugh,
a relic from the 80s.

On OIL: isn't big American oil keeping the price artificially high to
force Congress to lift the ban on drilling offshore etc...?
I also don't see why Oil would drop with Obama's president. Lots of
good things will come with his presidency, not sure cheap oil is one
of them though...

I doubt oil will make it to 200 by year end. I think it will make it
to 160 if the climb resumes.
If the climb doesn't resume it will be probably bouncing around in the
90's or low 100's

Not certain about Obama's position on deregulated trading on oil but
I'd expect that to change.  I read that speculators add about $4.00
per/b in cost, I suspect the cost effect is quite a bit higher.  I see
$100 per/b oil again, that or an extremely painful recession/
depression.

Oppressive leftist thinking is a pre-30s relic...a hashed and a failed
ideology, the reults of which are exacty the reason we are in the
pickle juice.  Free markets?  More like...ever increasing central
planning facism, both financial and political.  Use your resources,
open your mind, think outside your own laziness, do not be LED by
bumper-sticker sloganism, and get INFORMED.  I don't chat with anybody
either unless you're a girl...and bama is an patronizing empty suit
wearing tele-prompter headsets.  Get him alone without the aides, and
well...he closely resembles a younger but far more naive GW!

After 8 years of Patriot Act, Guantanamo, wire tapping and everything
else it's quite hilarious to see the word "oppressive" and "fascism"
associated with "left", very hilarious indeed! And how is bailing out
banks, subsidize (conservative) farmers and the defense industry part
of free-market ideology again?
I am not buying Obama, I am buying the team and the ideas, I don't
care if he reads from a prompter or not (by the way, at least he's
able to read which cannot be said about the other guy!).

Uh, back to topic. Oil is dependent on the value of the US DOLLAR; as
long as the dollar falls, oil will continue to rise. (We have 4
percent of world;s population and consume 25% of the world's oil
supply).  I also believe oil futures were touted and manipulated by
Goldman, hey, but that's just me.

Did you ever consider that the value of the dollar is dependent on the
dollars' supply relative to the supply of real things with value
(i.e., commodies, including oil).

Osama's election (and HIGHER taxes) will precipitate a major
recesssion, perhaps worldwide.  In turn, demand for oil will drop
precipitously.   Nobody needs to drive to work ... nobody will be able
to buy Chinese merchandise ... etc, etc, etc .....

Back to the question, "Where is oil going?"

My bet is up on Monday due to the tensions with Iran and Venezuela--
The US just gave Iran two weeks to stop uranium enrichment and
Venezuela's Chavez is off buying military components from Russia,
smack talking our missile program in Europe.

Oil price should go back down and be stablized around $115.  If not,
the US economy is going to stay depression.  Squeezing some "short-
sellers" by SEC won't help our economy too much, which only would help
the INDEX.

Didn't you hear that so many investor asked the same question: HAVE
all the problems been sloved????
