Subject: The DOW will start to move on up in the coming weeks.
As with any of these milestones such as 9K,10K the DOW will hit them
and retreat, hit them again and retreat. It will do that in a good
economy as well as bad.

We've bobbled around for a couple of weeks and the DOW will soon start
on it's way to 10,500 which could easily be hit by years end with 11K
coming next spring.

The reason it didn't tank over 10.2% unemployment is because 10%
unemployment has been predicted to happen for the last 10-11 months.
The first week that drops back the markets will really gain steam.

10-11 months ago, Obama, Bernanke, Pelosi, Krugman and the rest of the
Keynesians were predicting the "stimulus" package would keep
unemployment from going above 8%.  Which of course it did not, as here
we are at an official 10.2% (actual is 17%+, but we'll leave that
aside for now).

I'm keeping my bear cap on for another week to see what happens.

Gold has been really strong while the dollar has shown decent
strength. This may be more of a safety play instead of inflation
play.

Insider trading and CIT bankruptcy are in the headlines. This is pretty
similar to Lehman and Madoff of last year on a smaller scale.

Something has to give here soon. Either the markets (and commodities
including gold) continue their march upward, and the dollar continues
its downward trend to the 72 level, or the markets peak and then tank,
with the dollar rallying.  What will they do.

I don't like calling tops/bottoms, but I'm gonna say the DJIA peaks at
10,307 and then retests the March lows.  So, that means it will go to
14K by January for sure. ;)

Yeah, next week also has a ton of treasury notes up for sale and their
biggest buyer is not going to be there (the fed- which is my case for
TBT).

I also thought a good piece of info from the jobs report was how many
retail jobs were cut.  They must not be expecting too good of sales
this holiday.

I'm with ya on the predictions. I'm bearish so I'm sure DOW will go
above and beyond 14000 next week : )

Why do people continue to listen to these amateurs?  Obama, Summers,
Bernanke, Krugman....these are supposed to be the smartest of the
smart. They went to the best Ivy League schools. Bernanke (almost)
aced the SAT (1590).  I am willing to say that they are not
fundamentally stupid people. The economic theory they are
indoctrinated with and committed to is simply wrong.  So...are they
just following flawed theory to the end, or is this all intentional?

Thats the thing that has upset me the most. How could the best and the
brightest of wall street and government be so wrong and let things get
so out of control. I figure that if I can look at it in hindsight and
see what went wrong, well then, the guys that run the show should have
the ability to forecast just a little bit.

People like Peter Schiff saw what was coming from a mile away, and
told anyone who would listen.

It is a controlled, intentional situation. The "best and brightest"
know exactly what they are doing. Remember, it's one big club, and we
ain't in it.

On that note(put your tin foil hat on), I was thinking of some
hyperbole on the legal implications of credit default swaps and what
would happen if things collapsed.

I came to the conclusion that Goldman Sachs and friends would be
legally entitled to the majority of assets in the world if not
everything.

Maybe this is their plan?

Paul Krugman fails by subscribing to and promoting the flawed economic
theory that is Keynesianism.  Don't get me wrong...he is a really good
Keynesian. He is a Nobel Prize-winning Keynesian.  But as far as a
sustainable economic system for a free and productive society, Keynes
= Fail.  History will show this.

There is much to understand about the principles and failures of
Keynesian economic theory.

You can find the answers you seek in many places. I suggest starting

If they wanted to create jobs, the would have offered businesses tax
credits to create new jobs.  A $20K per job credit would have
generated 3,000,000 jobs for $60B.  Instead they gave a trillion away
to their friends including ACORN.  They want us to pay for their power
grab.

It is pretty simple:

Wealth cannot be printed.

Keynesian theory application results in redistribution of wealth (not
actual economic growth and wealth creation).

Government intervention distorts free markets and results in increased
instability in production and employment (not stability as
advertised).

Ultimately, Keynesianism results in the perversion of economic and
social justice.

Here is a concise explanation to this effect:
