Reinhardt,

It might be anecdotal, but it seems that several of these execs
involved (WCG, TYCO) were of Polish decent. I'm guessing that's
attributable to the fact that Catholicism is a pretty predominant
religion among Polish-Americans. This might be an angle worth looking
into: looking at who could be the next connected, Legatus-affiliated,
(perhaps Polish-American?) executive to play the role of pawn in the
great Corporate ATM withdrawal game. Starting with Polish executives
who are suspected members might be a good start.

Last October saw a market-wide dip start just as the pilgrimage began,
and it continued until the trip finished. But I think the real money
is in figuring out where the large moves are going to be made. Maybe
this time we'll finally see one of these banks go under. Maybe. Either
way, this week should provide a nice test for your thesis!

Why is that? Is he one of those that goes out to these events or does
he just understand what they mean and then goes and shorts stocks to
make Mad Money unlike Cramer?

I think Reinhart's idea is that corporate execs who know about
scandals confess it to cardinals or whatever at the end of the
pilgrimage, and they use that info in the market.?

"Why is that?"

Tice should (could easily) have been exterminated on Tyco's dime by
the folks who took care of Baxter and a few others at the time.

But he wasn't.

Tice was was the one who released a report on Tyco, precipitating
their fall, and I'm pretty sure he made $ on the Enron move too.
Reinhardt has some interesting, informative links on his website
(enterprisecorruption.com). Some of it gets to be a little to
Machiavellian for me (insofar as the juxtaposition of anthrax letters
go), but I cannot shy away from direct, statistical correlations, nor
can I ignore the facts. Speaking of which, that alleged individual
killed himself in his home about a month ago. I live in DC and it made
little more than a 10-second snippet on the local news. Duh duhn duh
dah!

"were of Polish decent"

Around the time of Waksal (he's out soon), Stewart, and Koslowski I
too noticed some kind of wierd Polish (Jewish-Polish aka Waksal)
reocurrance and I think I researched a little out of casual interest
but I can't recall coming up with much other than having to take a
look at the period around 1930s and the Germans and Jewish-German
industrialists and bankers and pharmaceutical folks who split to
Poland and from Poland to the U.S. with a heads-up regarding their
near future.

Monohan probably isn't Polish

You know, it could be just as simple as because Tom Monaghan was "so
touched" by his visit with Pope John Paul II in 1987 (a Pole), perhaps
the organization is simply better able to persuade/resonate with those
of Polish decent. Monaghan's wife has a weird last name; she appears
to be of Swiss decent....those tricky Swiss. They're just as
duplicitous and as tasty as their holy cheese. In all seriousness
though, it's hard to find the definitive link of Monaghan + Polish.
Maybe the Poles are just a more successful people, statistically
speaking...

Also, I find it interesting that Tice spoke so negatively of tech.
Makes me wonder if he knows something.

Finally: the person who killed himself was Bruce Ivins:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26007186/  he was the FBI's top suspect in
the 2001 anthrax letters.

Never trust a Swiss banker
The Dutch are trouble too

Thanks about the Ivins thing
I had read that then
I follow the thrax stuff fairly close
Eventually (maybe 5-50 years?) it will lead to the direction I saw it
lead to
If I didn't know I was right about the Anthrax thing I wouldn't have
taken the time to write it
Those are real dates and real events in there
But real dates and real events bore readers to tears so I inserted
opinion

Reinhardt - do you have a listing from recent years on the days of the
main Legatus pilgrimage? I tried to find it on their website, but they
only seem to show future events. I'd like to do some extra research
and study if there's any type of correlation between market/sector/
locality and these time periods.

yeah I do

but

it is within a huge document timeline that isn't limited to Legatus
stuff

would it suffice to say that I had the same question and I googled
"groups" for weeks to find out when and where pilgrimages were held
and what I ultimately found was that the Rome ones were consistantly
the biggies

On a side note:
It is a protection racket that essentially pays for the costs related
to globalization which is absolutely critical in the science of the
stabilization of wages both locally and globally (sometimes referred
to as "the spreading of religion" or the "spreading of the word";
Apostle Paul is a good example as his letters would have been more
accurately addressed to and entitled "Letters to The Corinthian..
Canal Company")
And it is a protection racket that pays for globalization that works
And if you have a tool in the toolbox that works that nobody questions
and very few comprehend then you use it
Or else you have to ask "what happens when you stop paying your
protection money?

look at the difference between the fall of the NASDAQ and the DOW

not so sure

it is a week to early unless that trip was two weeks long and ended on
the 14th

i will add though that the healthcare sector traditionally is the
place to invest as other sectors (tech, energy, lending, construction)
begin to fall and I am seeing some medical panic (cancer cure mania)
on the part of the king and his court (ABCNBCCBS; a big joint effort
TV show coming up soon)

i wouldn't be suprised if there isn't some well promoted nixon style
"war on cancer" kind of push in the media and the next congress

i would expect to see stock pundits start to mention health companies
(maybe research; pharma) as a place to put money in the next month

one other thing

the negative news that has to hit can not be from natural honest
economics or acts of god kinda stuff
it has to be (HAS TO BE) funny-money related corruption larger-scale
accounting questions and a few fall-guys perp-walks handcuff-one-of-
the-bastards related stuff.

this way the affected outsiders have somebody or something to aim
their anger at rather than the corrupt enterprise

the next congress can't save the day in the next 2 years and pass
legislation to put an end to natural honest accounting and acts of god

so look for something along those lines and if that happens I was/am
accurate in my beliefs

if not?  then I am wrong.

Check out SPNC, off 50% intraday. They're in the med/tech space; rumor
is their office is being raided. Not quite on the scale of a WCG,
though.
