Tata Steel Limited is an Indian multinational steel-making company, headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with its primary operations based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. It is a subsidiary of the Tata Group.
Formerly known as Tata Iron and Steel Company Limited, Tata Steel is one of the largest steel producers globally, with an annual crude steel capacity of 35 million tones and one of the world's most geographically diversified steel producers, with operations and commercial presence spanning multiple regions worldwide.
The group recorded a consolidated turnover of US$31 billion in the financial year ending 31 March 2023. It is the largest steel company in India, with an annual capacity of 21.6 million tones after Steel Authority of India Ltd.
